Google Street View is a feature of Google Maps that lets you explore the world from mobile or computer. It offers real-life views of interesting places on Google Maps.
This article will help you to know how to use this feature on computer or mobile. Next time you are planning to travel, you can research your favorite tourist destination before you actually go. And, of course, you can virtually visit different cities and have fun!
You’ll see a Google Knowledge Panel with location descriptions and photos of popular places.
If the location has Street View coverage, you’ll see photos labeled View outside.
Select any time point on the timeline to visualize how the location has changed over the years.
Above the timeline, you will see the Kebab menu. Click on the place to print it. You can also select Share or Embed Image to share that location.
You may not get Street View thumbnails after selecting some locations on Google Maps. However, sometimes those places have 360° Street View photos. Shop owners, Google Maps local guides, and tourists can upload panoramic images of many places of interest.
So, if you don’t see the Street View thumbnail right away, tap the address card and scroll down to see the photo with the Street View icon. If you find an image labeled Street View, you can tap that location to view it in 360 degrees.
You can also access the Street View system by selecting place markers such as restaurants, schools, hotels, hospitals, etc. After making a selection, see the Street View thumbnail or photo with its logo.
A Street View thumbnail will appear if Street View coverage is available for that location.
Tap a thumbnail to access Street View mode.
You can tap the compass icon at the top to look around. Alternatively, you can swipe in any direction on the touchscreen.
virtually know the world
You can follow the above steps on your mobile, tablet or computer to visit places virtually on Google Maps. You can easily see tourist places, shops, offices, parking lots, football stadiums etc. in their original setup.
However, you can’t get the whole world on Google Street View as the program only works in select countries. Google Maps also integrates easily with other Google apps so you can create great content.
Google Maps is easily one of Google’s greatest achievements. It allows millions of people every day to find their way around, share directions and get to their appointments on time.
The app’s usefulness extends far beyond the basic features you’ll find on a website’s homepage, and part of this usefulness is due to Google’s other services being so neatly integrated with it. Here are some unique ways you can use Google Maps with other apps.
1. Google Now features integrated into Google Maps
Google Now is technically still working: Its app launcher is also available through Google Play [broken URL removed]. However, Google Now is no longer advertised as a brand.
That’s because Google has rebranded Google Now as Google Feed. It has worked a lot of its features directly into Google Maps with its ever-growing Google Assistant.
For example, Google Now let you find businesses near your current location: all you had to do was ask for nearby coffee shops, gas stations, or convenience stores. Within seconds, you will be able to get the map with all your locations.
Currently, this feature and others are available directly in Google Maps. As long as you have location services enabled on your phone, you can take advantage of this quick guide to stores and services.
2. Use Google Maps with Google Drive
If you have a Google Account, chances are pretty high that you use Google Drive on a regular basis. Did you know that you can create and manage Google Maps right within your Drive account?
To create a new map, click New > More > Google My Maps. This takes you to a Google Maps page where you can plot your desired location using different layers.
